Italian flourishes at Marin Catholic

I would like to applaud the Cristoforo Colombo Club of Marin for their generous support of the Italian Scholarship program at Marin Catholic High School. For over 30 years, this scholarship program has enabled Marin Catholic to attract students to the study of Italian by offering them reduced tuition. Especially given our current push for Italian language, the Cristoforo Colombo Club deserves special recognition for their efforts. Also, if you haven’t already, see here a ringing endorsement for the Italian AP exam by Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero.

According to Ms. Karen Raccanello, who teaches Italian at Marin Catholic, “Our program is flourishing this year. We have the largest enrollment, 112 students, that we have ever had. We have 2 classes for both the level 1 and level 2 students, and one class each of level 3 and level 4 Italian. Our long term goal is to expand the program by offering our most qualified students the opportunity to take the Advanced Placement Exam.”
